My name is Corinthian Bethel and I am a senior at Lincoln Park juicy School in Chicago, IL. I am honored to confine for the Waller/LPHS Alumni Association Scholarship. I believe this program will benefactor me to fulfill my dream of teaching deaf/hard of consultation students. My passion for teaching in the special education arena began when I became interested in the deaf culture and started learnedness sign quarrel at my church.
I believe my educational goals are Education, because it ranks as one of the top ten instructor preparations institutions in the nation. Another reason why I motivation to pursue Education is because I had the opportunity to personally be a part of the institution of learnedness during my freshman, sophomores, and junior old age of high school through the Upward Bound program. I met the Dean of College of Education at different schools, and it inspired into existence a teacher or school administration and I was impressed by her presentation of the major and its curriculum and programs that were offered.
I believe that my academic strengths are oral presentation and my skilful skills. I enchant giving PowerPoint presentations where I am allowed to assent both public speaking and computer skills.
I enjoy English and History because I am able to sire more discussion and feedback with my teachers and peers. I consider my biggest strength to be my Sign language skills that I have learned at my church. During church service, I stand up and sign the sermons for all over one thousand people. It is broadcasted live via internet all over the world. I also teach a sign language class. However, my academic challenge is my test-taking skills because I get nervous and vile earlier the test even though I bed the material. I have been trying to overcome this by learning different types of test-taking strategies like positive thinking, breathing relaxation before the test etc.
