It is the late 1930s and in that respect is a blanket of dust that seems to cover the endless land. What determination to be a place effective of life, joy, a consummate place for agriculture…is now dead. There is no soak up of life. The Dust Bowl is occurring and the generations year old families that knew, breathed, loved, give offd for their land ar forced out of their homes. The conditions made living hard. The families have no choice but to move. For if they choose not to, they testament die…their children pass on die. They have to find hope where there is no hope. They have to stay strong and their families must remain whole. entirely now then will families survive the brutal journey that is awaiting for them; the keen-sighted journey to California…where maybe just maybe they will be able to rebuild their lives once more.
John Steinbeck captures this in one novel, The Grapes of Wrath. He is able to make the reader puzzle a wide array of emotions and issues that are occurring during this dark period.
