The history of the National Rifle intimacy in the United States extends back to 1871. In that year the system of rules was founded by a number of former soldiers who participated in the polite War on the side of the North. In 1989 al whiz, over 26,000 certified NRA instructors teach 750,000 students in shooting-sports safety. In addition, 9,818 NRA certified law enforcement instructors worked on marksmanship skills organic evolution with law enforcement officers throughout America" (Landau, 1991, p. 40).
Clearly, with Presidents of the United States --- including one who himself was the victim of an assassin's bullet --- on its side, the NRA is a powerful political force to be reckoned with, indeed.
